WHAT HAPPENED?
Ahead of United's final Europa League group phase match against their Romanian opponents, head coach Amorim decided against starting Garnacho – who could leave the club in the coming days – in his starting XI. Now it has become clear why on Thursday.

THE EXPLANATION
Former Sporting CP boss Amorim explained before the contest that a number of players had been ill in the past few days, including the Argentine international. As a result, the 20-year-old is among the substitutes as a precaution.

He told TNT Sports: "Some players like Garnacho were sick during the week and Amad [Diallo] was on the limit, he is playing every minute so we have to try to keep the players fit and the other ones are prepared to win the game."
